It is strange to think about Las Vegas as a place to take in local, underground culture. Nonetheless, there are many Las Vegas events that you don't hear about in other parts of the country. Some of these are simply smaller versions of the more typical Las Vegas events – local lounge singers, chorus girls, and the like. Other times, however, interesting independent music acts come through at the last minute. You can find Las Vegas concerts with any style of music that you like, from rock to rap to classical. A lot of these Las Vegas events are not very well publicized nationally, so the only way to find out about them is to look them up once you get to Vegas. You will be glad that you did!
On our Las Vegas vacations, we usually only plan out half of our days. The rest of the time, we wake up, get a local paper, and see what Las Vegas events are going on that day. Sometimes, we will take in a magic show. Other times it might be a concert. We might even see a few plays while we are there. Of course, there is always gambling, which is a big draw to some people. Nonetheless, I think Las Vegas events and the best part of the city. You can gamble anywhere – it is always pretty much the same. It is true that Las Vegas is a glitzier and more glamorous place to gamble, but it certainly is not the only place to make bets. If you don't spend a lot of your time going to Las Vegas events, you really might be missing out.
