I gave up doing my own federal income tax return a long time ago. It used to be very simple for my husband and me to file our taxes. Now that I work from home, there are many other considerations that I have when filing our federal income tax return. I have expenses that I can write off on my taxes, and we also have a child now. After you have filed your federal income tax return, remember to put a copy of it away for later. If you have receipts and other paperwork that was needed when filing your taxes, make sure you put this information away as well. You will want to know where all of these things are in the case that you are audited. Remember that if you are audited, the person or company who helped you file your federal income tax return should be able to help you. Perhaps when looking for someone to do your taxes for you, you should ask them if they offer audit support for you or not.
