    Emergency Lights

Imagine the places you could use emergency lights. Now, just to be clear, I'm not referring to the colorful lights on top of police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. I had your home in mind. If you're thinking you already have lights in your home, well that's all fine and good. But what about when the power goes out due to a bad storm or smashed transformer? This is a time when you might be left in the dark and unable to see your hand in front of your face. Not a great situation to be in if you have small children. Plus it can get a bit spooky. Quality emergency lights can prevent this from happening. You can purchase flashlights that plug into your wall outlets. This way if the power shuts down, they flash on, fully charged. You can leave them in the wall as lights or you can pull them out and walk around with the flashlight as you would with any other. We purchased ten of these when we bought our home and we've already used them once when the power failed for 24 hours. It was a nasty ice storm and emergency lights came in handy. Not to mention our wood-burning fireplace.

There are also measures you can take for the exterior of your home. You can buy fairly inexpensive emergency lights or flood lights for all angles of your home. These are great because they work off motion sensors. If something stirs in your yard, a light will click on. This is also a great security measure to take. No burglar or assailant wants to be standing in the middle of a yard flooded with light. Take the necessary precautions with emergency lights and other safety devices before something unexpected occurs.
