Homes come in all sizes, and what size you have may very well determine what you can and can not have. If you have very little space, you may have to use your bedroom for things that are really not related to what should be in that room. This is a problem in my small space, and that means that my closet is multi-functional, and that we have a computer in there as well. If I had more room, there are a lot of things that I would do differently, and many of those things are for practicality as well as for looks. If I had space, I would be looking at dressing screens for my bedroom.
You may think of dressing screens as things of the past, but they are still out there. There are many that use them for looks, but they can be very practical in certain situations. In my house, I have a six year old girl running around. I love her, but she has no concept of personal boundaries just yet. That means I have had very few chances to go to the rest room without interruption, and getting dressed in my bedroom is something of a hurried matter. If I had dressing screens, I might have more time and more privacy.
We generally do not close our bedroom door because of our limited space and our two furry friends. Our cats spend a lot of time in our bedroom, mostly hiding from the six year old, and that means we really have no choice but to leave the door open most of the time. My bathroom is just too small for dressing, so I do it in my bedroom. I think my daughter has a radar, because the moment clothing or my robe comes off, she comes running. I have no privacy whatsoever, but I think dressing screens would help with that a little bit. She could be in the room with me, but I would have the privacy that I crave.
Most moms know what I am talking about, and wish for the same privacy. Dressing screens can give just that, and they can look really good in a bedroom as well. You can find them in a lot of colors both neutral and in colors that match your décor. Even better, screens for dressing in privacy are not as big as you think, and they can fold up when you have limited space. I still can’t have one, but you can bet that when we buy a home, it will be large enough to have one or it will be no sale.
